FYI all our recipes are relatively high in calories, dairy- free due to lactose intolerance and do not mix milk and meat products.

If doing chemo, optional oils should probably not be added unless  necessary.

Liquid in food may be substituted freely in recipes for example milk may be added instead of soy milk.  For greater ease in liquefying use broth or clearer juices or even water.

 
 
   

Mixed Vegetables or Broccoli

3 Servings 

  • 4 cups of frozen mixed vegetables (corn, green beans, peas, lima beans, etc.).  This is about ½ of a large bag.
  • 3 cups of broth, juice or cooking water
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Cook vegetables for time indicated on package.  Drain cooking water into a bowl and put cooked vegetables in the processor. Pulse 10 times.  Process for one minute continuously. Add 3 cups of cooking liquid or other broth.  Add salt/pepper to taste and oil if desired.

 

Green Peas

2 Servings

  • 16 oz of frozen green peas
  • 2 cups of soy milk
  • Optional: Olive Oil

Cook peas according to package directions.  Place peas and any cooking liquid into the food processor and process for one minute.  Add 2 cups of soy milk and pulse just until blended.  Add olive oil if desired.

Vegetables and Shitake Mushrooms

2 Servings

  • 3 cups of mixed broccoli, cauliflower and shitake mushrooms
  • 3 cups of liquid
  • Optional: 4 tablespoons of sesame oil

Bring water in a pot to boil.  Steam mixed vegetables and mushrooms for 10 minutes.  Place vegetables and mushrooms in food processor and pulse 10 times.  Process vegetables for 30 seconds then add liquid and process for 10 seconds longer.  Add optional oil and mix.

Baby Spinach

1 Serving

  • 3-4 oz, 4 loose cups or ½ Bag of Pre-Washed, Baby Spinach
  • 2 cups of vegetable or meat broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: 3 tablespoons of olive oil

Place spinach in the processor and process for 2 minutes until well pureed.  Add broth and process for 30 seconds.  If desired, stir in oil and salt by hand.
